Kenmare Bay Hotel & Resort - paid members offer
At our AGM last year, we set out to try build upon the benefits for paid members. With that, we are...
We are back again for another term! We held our 2025 AGM on Sunday the 27th of April, this year coming from the lovely Kenmare Bay Hotel & Resort. We've had an interesting 2024 with a downward trajectory for EV sales, but thankfully so far in 2025 we are seeing growth again. This hasn't deterred us, in fact it allowed us to work on our stories and data that we share out, as well as increasing our lobbying work. All of which I believe is helping to move the overall landscape in the right direction for fleet electrification, and with the strength of committee members it has continued to allow us to act as a notable voice in this area.
Similar to last year, we have three positions on the committee opening up. I would like to thank Roland Krijnen, Blake Boland and Bryan Hickson for their time and input to the committee.
Roland has been out IT extraordinaire for the past year or two, and a committee member for much longer than that again! Most of the systems that you see (or don't) come from a huge effort from Roland over the past while. He has made sure that the Association has taken the work from others around Hubspot, Stripe and all the other systems and that they work as well as they do, making the committee as efficient in its operations. Vital in a volunteer organisation! His input has been crucial to our ongoing success, with a strength of character to point out a direction or approach and to work to bring about the best in every aspect he was a part of, which was a lot!
Blake joined the committee in 2022 at the same time as myself. Coming from a background in EV reviews with Derek, and working in Media relations for the AA and now with Dublin Bus, his input has been a great source of understanding for us to try to help the association engage and to get better recognised across a wider community. We have seen an uptick in the past few years with the amount of time we get outside of our blog posts here, and it is people like Blake that have helped make this possible.
Bryan joined the committee in 2023 and served as our Membership officer before Darby took over this role last year. As such, he has been a fantastic voice for those who have come to us in need through his time looking after our Membership, but also outside of that role with our Strategy Day from 2023 where he was instrumental is the setup and planning of this, as well as helping to guide and input ideas on the day. This is a moment where I can see where we are today as an Association as being a key point that come from this day. It is important to highlight that a single day and meeting can change so much, so it is important that people are aware of this and know how these things come about.
A huge thank you to Roland, Blake and Bryan!
Coming to the 2025 term and the committee for the coming year we have a strong team in place. While we only welcome one new committee member in Alan Carolan to the team, we have a strong basis and framework to work from, with an improved strategy that continues to make sure we move in the right direction to make an impact and a good change in what we are looking to achieve. We must continue the good work to date, and bring our most recent learnings forward with us.
I want to give a Warm Welcome to Alan. We are delighted to have you and we have no doubt you will bring something to the table that will have a significant part to play in all that is happening. And with with, I present the 2025 IEVA Committee.

Finally a huge thank you to all those who attended in-person or online for the AGM. For those who voted we had an overwhelming support of all Committee members, as well as our Motion of "CHAdeMO to CCS adapter bulk buy". This is something we will start working on by reaching out to those who have already purchased to see what works or is best, and from there to investigate the demand and offers that can be gotten through a bulk order for individuals. But also to highlight that I am grateful to continue to be a part of this committee and the community that exists around it. If that camaraderie didn't exist, we wouldn't be doing it!
And to close, to again thank Kenmare Bay Hotel & Resort for their hospitality. It was fantastic over the whole weekend! The food was exceptional, the hotel & lodges were amazing to see with Solar PV, heat pumps & simply tons of EV charging points across the whole site. We would highly encourage people to check them out (and not just because IEVA paid members get a 10% discount plus a complimentary charging session), but because this is how hotels and infrastructure should be! Plentiful, readily available and done in a sustainable fashion. We will be back!
